Climate in transition –
rethinking air conditioning service.

AVL DiTest A/C Service Fast, Efficient and Convenient

chillAIR, the new, fully automatic device line from AVL DiTEST, supports you as usual in your A/C service work. The automatic and manual service and diagnostic functions can be selected quickly and conveniently via the 7-inch touch display. The replacement of air conditioning components in the vehicle is facilitated by the automatic processes, thereby reducing the entire service and repair procedure to a minimum. With the new devices of the chillAIR line, you are also ideally equipped for future challenges in A/C service. Digitalisation and Connectivity @AVL DiTEST.

Like many AVL DITEST products already, the new chillAIR family can be directly networked with the new AVL DITEST digitalisation.

  • Automatic firmware and vehicle database updates,
  • Remote diagnosis directly by the AVL DITEST service technician
  • Predictive Maintenance

To name just a few advantages, they guarantee smooth operation of the device for its entire service life.

A/C Service Units for R134a and R1234yf
Different refrigerant gases require a wide variety of A/C service units. Currently, three different refrigerants are in use – R134a, R1234yf and R744, better known as CO2 or carbon dioxide. Since January 2017, vehicles whose air conditioning systems operate with the gas R134a may no longer be newly registered. The reason for this is the high greenhouse gas potential with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1,430. Since 2011, R1234yf has therefore been used as a refrigerant that has a much lower greenhouse potential with a GWP of 4.

Up to any challenge
To meet the high demands of A/C service, AVL DiTEST developed the chillAIR series, a system suitable for simple and efficient A/C service on all vehicles, from trucks, cars, construction machinery to agricultural vehicles – even for A/C service on hybrid and electric vehicles. All devices in the AVL DiTEST chillAIR series (SMART, DYNAMIC and EXPERT) can be used for both the R134a refrigerant and the R1234yf refrigerant. The usable refrigerant can be easily selected during initial commissioning. Regardless of the refrigerant, the A/C service units are characterized by high durability, reliability and a well-structured and self-explanatory user interface.

Environmental protection and the reduction of environmental impact are also key focuses of air conditioning service. To minimize refrigerant loss during the measurement process, AVL uses eco-friendly materials and state-of-the-art technologies, thereby setting an example for a sustainable future.

A/C Service for CO2 (R744)
The use of CO2 as refrigerant R744 is a sustainable and safe solution for filling air conditioning and heat pump systems. As a natural gas, carbon dioxide is neither flammable nor toxic and does not require recycling. With the chillAIR R744, AVL DiTEST has developed an A/C service unit specifically for the maintenance of CO2 air conditioning and heat pump systems, which prioritizes safety and cost-effectiveness alongside environmental considerations. The chillAIR R744 features an ingenious design; it is small, lightweight, and—thanks to the color display—enables ergonomic work in the workshop. As with the entire chillAIR series, the focus here is also on intuitive operation via a clear user interface and high operational safety due to menu-guided processes. Low service and maintenance costs provide additional benefits and clearly establish the CO2 system as the climate technology of the future.
